Alberta Rae Whatley

          Alberta Rae Whatley, 70, of Mooresville, Missouri passed away in Kansas City, Missouri on September 26, 2022.

          Alberta was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 9, 1951 to parents Harry Ray Kirk and Patricia Lucille Burtz Taylor. She was a graduate of Van Horn High School. Alberta married the love of her life, James Whatley on June 6, 1986 in Orlando, Florida. She was a home maker and enjoyed caring for all of her family’s needs.

          Throughout her life Alberta enjoyed many things including, Flowers, Dogs, Chickens, fishing and traveling. Her love of ice cream was unmatched. She treasured spending time with her family and friends.

          Alberta is survived by her husband of 36 years, James Whatley of Mooresville, Missouri, daughters, Melissa Sheffield and husband Robert of Ludlow, Missouri, Mary Hughes and husband David of Dawn, Missouri, son, Kenneth  Harris and wife Amy of North Dakota, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sister, Lucretia Miller and husband Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, and brother Thomas Taylor Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida.

          She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Kirk and Patricia Taylor, step father Thomas J. Taylor Sr., son Stephen Beth, and brother Ted Taylor.  

          Private family services will be held at a later date.

          Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Missouri.
