Barbara Blodgett

Barbara Sue Blodgett, 76, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Trenton MO at the home of her granddaughter and under the care of St. Luke’s Hospice.
Barbara was born August 31, 1940 in Macon MO, the daughter of William Wardell Simmons and Alice Fern Hayward Simmons. She was a graduate of Macon High School.
On June 21, 1965 Barbara married William Franklin Blodgett in Jonesburg MO. He preceded her in on April 4, 2005.
Barbara worked for the Department of Corrections in Booneville MO for 13 years as a food supervisor.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Macon, MO and she enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by a son, William Scott Simmons (Jenny) of Brookfield MO; three grandchildren, Candi Simmons (Paul Farris) of Trenton MO, Misty Harris (Chuck) of Brookfield Mo, and Ashley Freeman (Eddie) of Marceline MO; 7 great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Simmons and Rex Simmons, both of TX; four sisters, Rose Lea of Kirksville MO, Martha Jacobs of Foley AL, Betty Sharier of Chillicothe MO and Rae Smith of Macon MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; a son, Mark Blodgett; a 3 sisters, Erma, Mary Jo, and Sharon; a daughter-in-law, Clarissa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe MO.
A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral (10:00 a.m.) on Wednesday October 12, 2016
