Bishop Beryl Wayne Darnell Sr., 62, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at his home, under the care of his family and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Beryl Darnell was born in Kansas City, Kansas on October 7, 1949 the son of Newton Darnell and Ola Mae Botts Darnell. He attended school in Burns, KS and Augusta, KS.
On December 25, 1967 Beryl Darnell married Karen Sue Moore in Wichita, KS. She survives of the home.
Over the span of 44 years Beryl pastored 16 churches in the states of Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi. He had been the pastor of Soul’s Harbor Church of God since May of 2008.
He enjoyed reading and studying his Bible, woodworking, especially with cedar, and fishing.
Bishop Darnell is survived by his wife, Karen of the home; five children, Billie Sue Maples of Arma, KS, Beryl Darnell and wife Connie of Huntsville, AR, Keenan Darnell and wife, Audrey of Derby, KS, Travis Darnell and wife, Crystal of Gower, MO, and Schurrilla Adams and husband, David of Kansas City, MO.; 20 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; six brothers; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mark Darnell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Soul’s Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, MO.
The visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
