Morgan Malone.  A second service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Utica Baptist Church in Utica, MO, with Pastor Chuck Greever officiating.  Interment will follow at Utica Cemetery.  Betty passed away on July 18, 2018.  She was born November 26, 1932 in Nettleton, Missouri to Elmer Arley Jones & Maude Blanche Lauderbach Jones.

Born in a house to a farming family, she was the youngest of four children.  As a child she picked strawberries for her father who gave her a nickel a box for extra money and baby-sat children for the owner of a bakery where her mother worked.  She graduated from Utica, MO, in 1951, where she was a great basketball player all four years of high school.  She worked for Cook Paint Company in Kansas City, MO, where she met Austin C. Noble (A.C.) and later married June 6, 1953.  As a young mother, she remained a housewife until her children were older.  She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, active in her church, involved in arts & crafts and sewing.  She worked for the railroad for a short time, Bendix brake in accounting, other various jobs and later retired from Frost bank from the checking department.  She was very proud that she was going to college and taking accounting classes in her mid 50’s.  She was very involved in her church all of her life, including Vacation Bible School and Children's Ministries.  Even in her older years she helped with Team Kids and the Children’s Choir where she brought them treats, sewed costumes and made props for the children.  Singing music with the children brought her great joy and happiness.

She loved her family deeply and even though there wasn’t much money, we always had food on the table and always had our back.  Her children remember her giving the best back scratches, an awesome cook making the boys bacon and eggs every morning, pot roast with mashed potatoes & gravy and veggies every Sunday after church, and crazy boy cookies.  Her cheeseburgers cannot be duplicated!  She sewed pants & polyester shirts for the boys and made matching dresses for her daughter and herself.  She learned to crochet blankets and make quilts.  She was not a patient person often saying that was not her strong suit and did things her own way.  She was a strict disciplinarian, yet very loving and do anything to protect her children… including chasing bully’s away from her young boys with a baseball bat!  She was a strong woman in every sense of the word and taught each of us kids to be strong in all situations.  She stressed the importance of family and taught us to always bind together.  Her greatest achievement was to make sure we knew Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, to always trust in Him and that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever – Hebrews 13:8.

As mom would always say…this is not goodbye but see ya later!  We miss you already mom and will see you again someday!

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Austin Calvin Noble on March 3, 1991; parents, Elmer Arley Jones & Maude Lauderbach Jones; daughter, Debra Lynn Noble; sister, Maxine Jenks and brothers, Bobby Ray Jones and J.D. Jones.
