Billy Jack Rist

    Billy Jack Rist, 70, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Life Care Center in Brookfield, MO. Billy was born on August 3th, 1954 to loving parents, Jack Harvey Rist and Mildred Jean McNally Rist. After graduating from high school Billy served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he turned into a skilled handyman. Billy was also a proud member of the Church of God.

     Billy was known as a man who really enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and dancing. He loved to watch for eagles flying through the sky while on one of his long drives. Billy was a big supporter of the chiefs and watched every game he could. Most of all Billy loved spending time with his family and cherished every moment with them. 

     He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Myria Rist and her husband (David) of Cedar Vale, KS and Christy Adams of Richmond, MO. His son, Billy Rist Jr. with his wife (Amber). His eight grandchildren, Katelynn, Matthew, Shaylynn, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Hunter, Aireanna, and Brieanna. His two sisters, Cookie Huckaby of Chillicothe, MO and Rose Burke and her husband (Bruce) of Utica, MO. Along with three step-siblings, Joyce Constant and her husband (Gary), Kathy Gardner and her husband (Ron), and Bill Cobb with wife (Theresa). Three step-grandchildren, Justin Joiner, Jessica Joiner, and Joshua Joiner. Along with first cousin and good friend, Sid MCnally, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

     Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred Rist, his sister, Debra Rist Johnson, his step-mom, Gwen Rist, and two brother-in-laws, Gary Huckaby and Butch Johnson.

     A visitation service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday January 31st at 3pm.

     Military Honors will commence at 4pm with a funeral service to immediately follow. A burial for Billy will be held at a later date at Anderson-Smith Cemetery.
