Catherine E. Cooper Beckner Rosson 

Catherine Rosson, of Brookfield, Missouri, passed away on December 19, 2024, at the Boone Hospital Comfort Care Unit. Catherine was born December 25, 1929, in Chillicothe to parents Lewis and Lena Cooper. She was the youngest of a large, loving family of four sisters and one brother. She graduated from Chillicothe High School and spent her career working in various clothing and shoe retail businesses. 

She married Kenneth Beckner in 1947. They worked together on their farm near Springhill, Missouri. They later moved on to careers in retail, which eventually took them to Cherokee, Iowa and later back to Chillicothe. They were always active leaders in the Baptist churches of which they were members. Kenneth preceded her in death in 1978. 

She later married Dale Rosson. They continued to be active in the Baptist Church. They enjoyed country life watching nature from their deck and hosting many happy gatherings with their large blended family. Dale preceded her in death in 1995. 

Catherine enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, and many other types of needlework. 

Catherine was the last of her generation. She is survived by daughter Barbara Timmons (Jim), son Wayne Beckner (Barb), grandchildren Andy Baker, Jon Baker, Katherine Luebbert (Collin). Extended family members include Delvin Rosson (Peggy), Richard Rosson (LaVerne), Buffy Rosson (Jeff Gibson), Loretta Rosson-Rollins (Rob), Tracy Rosson Johnson, Delvin Dale Rosson (Jennifer), Brooke Timmons (David Kramer), and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in honor of Catherine may be made to your local Humane Society. 

A service for family will be held at Heritage Funeral Home December 26 at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Resthaven, Chillicothe.
