Charles (Charlie) John Pollock,71, of Chillicothe MO passed away at his home on Sunday, June 7, 2015.
Charlie was born October 17, 1943 in rural Livingston County the son of Gerald Addison (Bob) Pollock and Clara Elizabeth Dowell Pollock. He graduated Chillicothe High School in 1961.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Navy See-Bees from June 1966 thru November 1967. He attained the rank of E-4.
On May 29, 1969 Charlie married Shirley Ann Goodman at the home of Reverend Clifton in Chillicothe. She survives of the home.
Charlie was always a farmer at heart and enjoyed raising his cattle. He also worked as a dozer operator for Lavon Horton, and for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He spent a few years at SEMCO in Chillicothe and for the last 13 years he was a corrections officer at the prison in Chillicothe.
He had many interests such as growing sugar cane and making molasses, tinkering with farm equipment with his “sons”, hunting and fishing, and playing old country music with his friends. He earned a black belt in Hap-Kido and briefly taught that skill to others.
Charlie’s favorite activity was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
His survivors include his wife Shirley of the home; a son, William (Billy) Pollock (Terrie Leigh) of Chillicothe; 2 daughters, Ellen Beth Parrack (Samuel William) of Trenton, and Margaret Rose Sullivan (Kevin John) of Chillicothe; 6 grandchildren, Christopher John Pollock, Dillon Thomas Parrack, Alex Michel Parrack, Amanda Parrack, Katelyn Breann Sullivan, and Colton John Sullivan.; a sister, Edith Katherine Summers of Chillicothe; an uncle, Scott Dowell of Anderson CA.; a brother-in –law, Richard (Dick) Samm (Elaine) of Excello MO; sister in law, Rosilee Pinkston of Independence; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Junior Pollock.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO
Burial will be at Tolle Cemetery, Farmersville MO.
A visitation will be held1 hour prior to the service (1:00 p.m.) at Heritage Funeral Home.
