Donald Leroy Herring, 66, of Chillicothe, MO passed away September 21, 2013 at Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe.
Donald was born in Utica, MO on January 5, 1947, the son of Francis Elsworth Herring and Wilma Catherine Hicks Herring.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Lance Corporal. He served 13 months in Viet Nam before being wounded and returning stateside.
Donald worked as a Correction Office for the Missouri Department of Corrections.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy came from spending time with children, especially his nieces and nephews.
Donald is survived by three brothers, William Herring of Utica, MO, Frank Herring and wife, Marie of Wheeling, MO, and Robert Herring and wife Ethel of Chillicothe, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Ann Herring and Elizabeth Herring.
