Donna Herring

Donna Marie Herring, 73, of Utica MO passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza in Kansas City MO.
Donna was born on May 26, 1940 in the rural Coloma MO area. She was the daughter of Leona “Ona” Corf and Leta Ruth Sperry Corf. She graduated from Tina-Avalon High School in 1958.
On November 7, 1959, Donna Corf and William E. Herring were married by Reverend Bruce Trussell at the Coloma Baptist Church. He survives of the home.
Donna worked for several years for Lambert Glove Factory and Midwest Glove in Chillicothe. MO. She became a full time mother and homemaker until her son was in school full time, then she became a cook, working for Indian Hills Retirement Village and the Catfish Place.
She was a member of Utica Baptist Church and very active in all church activities including the Women’s Missionary Union, church dinners and especially Vacation Bible School. Her biggest joy in life was being a wife and mother to Bill and Earl.
Donna is survived by her husband, William E. Herring of the home; son, William Earl Herring of Mission, KS; brothers, Robert “Carl” Corf and wife Marge of Chillicothe, MO, Jack Corf of Bogard, MO, and Ted Corf and wife Donna of Bosworth, MO; a sister Marguerite Wooden of Bogard, MO; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leroy Corf, Gerald Corf and Tommy Gene Corf; sisters, Bernice Babbitt and Mildred Garber.
Memorials in honor of Donna Herring may be made to the Utica Baptist Church and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO. On line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com .
There has been a cremation.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Utica Baptist Church.
There will be a private family burial at Coloma Cemetery, Coloma, MO.
No visitation is scheduled.
Friends may call at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, June 21, 2013 to sign the book from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
