Dorothy Mae O'Dell, 91, of Chillicothe, MO. passed away on Monday, July 11,2011 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Dorothy was born November 17, 1919 in Bosworth, MO. the daughter of William Henry Henderson and Flora Berrier Henderson. She attended school in Bosworth. On September 3, 1935 Dorothy married Ralph Woodrow O'Dell in Keytesville, MO. He preceded her in death in 1967.
Dorothy worked for many years as a cook at the Girls Training School in Chillicothe until her retirement. She was an avid card player and enjoyed sewing and dancing. Dorothy was a Baptist by faith and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors, and RSVP.
She is survived by three children, Kaye Peterman and husband, Paul of Crane, MO, Richard "Digger" O'Dell and wife, Emily of Chillicothe, MO, and Billie Hardy and husband, John of Blue Springs MO. a son-in-law, Cecil Beisel of Perry, OK; 12 grandchildren, Cecil "Woody" Beisel, Larry Beisel, Mark Beisel, Colby Beisel, Stephanie Cloyd, Ashley Austin, Dustin O'Dell, Kelly Moore, Adam O'Dell Jennifer Reeder, John Hardy and Michael Hardy several great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret McIrvin (Junior). Of Maryville, MO; two sister-in-laws, Hazel Henderson of Bosworth, MO and Jo Ann Henderson of Chillicothe; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jack and Jo Ann Constant of Chillicothe.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Flora; husband, Ralph; and daughter Elizabeth Ann Beisel.
