Dorothy Richey

Dorothy Elizabeth Richey, 90, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at Morningside Center in Chillicothe under the care of Hedrick Medical Center Hospice.
She was born December 27, 1920 in Breckenridge, MO the daughter of Jesse Amzy Atterberry and Rilla A. Bogan Atterberry.
Dorothy was a graduate of Breckenridge High School, Breckenridge, MO.
She married Harold Earl Richey on September 20, 1940 in Chillicothe, MO. He preceded her in death in 1991.
For many years Dorothy worked as a sewing operator for the Boss Glove Factory in Chillicothe.
She enjoyed making embroidered quilts and pillow cases but her greatest joy was taking care of her family.
Dorothy was a member of the Church of Christ of Chillicothe.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Richey and wife, Nancy, of Chillicothe and Roger Richey of Chillicothe; 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister Margaret Manley of Hamilton, MO; a brother and sister -in law, Hardee and Ruth Richey of Braymer, MO; several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold Earl Richey; two sons Gary Richey on March 19, 1999 and Terry Ivan Richey on June 14, 2008; one grandson; two sisters, Florence Hollingsworth and Helen Atterbury.
Memorials in honor of Dorothy Richey may be made to the Monroe Cemetery and left at the funeral home or mailed to  Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, Mo 64601. On-line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com .
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Monroe Cemetery, Ludlow, MO.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home prior to the service at Ludlow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
