Doyle J. Hays 68, of Chula, MO. passed away at his home on Monday, August 19, 2013, under the care of his family and St Luke’s Hospice.
Doyle was born Nov. 11, 1944 in Pollock, MO to Truman Jefferson Hays and Velma Beula Irene Hines.
He was a life-long farmer in the area who enjoyed fishing, video games, riding four wheelers and driving stock cars at a local raceway. The most important thing in Doyle’s life was to spend time with his family and friends.
On November 20, 1966 he married Sharon Kay Hatfield, in Chillicothe, Mo. and to this union, three daughters were born, Claretta Lamp of Chillicothe, Penny Kromeich of Macon MO and Kim Tuttle and fiancé Johnny Ragle of Hamilton, MO.
Other survivors include grandchildren, Michael, Keith and Timothy Yount, Trenton Ewing, Tatum Hays, Lacey and Cody Kromeich, Reece and Kennedy Tuttle and James and Lori Beth Hostetter; 4 great grandchildren; companion , Mary Curry of the home; four brothers, Dennis Hays, Dalton Hays, David Hays, and Danny Hays and wife Debbie. five sisters, Karen Davis, Helen Whitmore, Theressa Clevenger (Gale), Pam Wilhelm (Marshall) and Donna Bean; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons-in-law, Jimmy Kromeich and Jesse Lamp; and nephew Adam Hays.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Plainview Cemetery, Chula MO.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m.
