Elinor (Utley) Murk, 72, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at her residence in Chillicothe under the care of her family and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Minnie Elinor Murk was born July 2, 1942 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Russell Edward Roney and Velma Kay Newton Roney.
She was the store manager for Love’s Country Stores in Colorado for 21 years before moving back to this area.
Elinor was a member of Soul’s Harbor Church of God in Chillicothe, and enjoyed reading, flowers, playing bingo and going to the casino. She lived for her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and dogs Scruffy and Sammie was what gave her life meaning.
She is survived by her mother Velma Kay Sturgeon of Carrollton; son, James Russell Utley of Chillicothe; daughter, Elinor Elaine Miller of Pasadena, TX; six grandchildren, Brandi Utley, Bruce Utley, Valerie Sanchez, Mario Sanchez, Destini Utley and Tawyna Utley; great grandson Domonique Utley; sisters Nancy Cooper and Christine Morgan of Bosworth, MO; special nephew, David Dowell.
Elinor was preceded in death by her father; son John Wayne Utley; brother, Roy Roney; and a sister Velma Sue Dowell.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Lock Springs Cemetery, Lock Springs, MO.
There is no scheduled visitation but friends may call at the funeral home to sign the book on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
