Floyd Junior Thomas, 85, of Chillicothe, MO died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Floyd was born March 20, 1932 in Dawn, MO, the son of Floyd Earl Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Triplett Thomas. He was a graduate of Avalon High School.
He was a United States Navy Veteran serving from January 1952 until December 1955. Floyd attained the rank of SN and received the National Defense Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation; Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the China Service Medal while serving on the USS Caliente.
Floyd was a dairy farmer in the area for most of his life. He liked to hunt and fish, trail riding, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by Donna Faye Thomas; grandson, Jacob McCracken and wife Laura of Dawn, MO; great granddaughter, Reata McCracken; several nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Debra Peterson; grandson Caleb McCracken; brothers, William Thomas and Robert Thomas; sisters, Geraldine May and Maxine Searcy.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cowboy Church, Blue Mound, MO.
Burial will be at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
