Forrest Derickson

Forrest (Frosty) Newton Derickson, 82, of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Forrest was born September 8, 1938 in Fountain Grove, Missouri to parents Robert Henry and Minnie Josephine Lisby Derickson. He was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School. Frosty worked for Chillicothe Municipal Utilities for 38 years and eight months finishing his career as Lead Maintenance Man at the Power Plant. Forrest married Betty Ann Larson September, 8 2002 at New Life Church in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Forrest had many hobbies some of them include deer hunting, fishing, camping, reading the Bible, praying at midnight and attending Church. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA. He loved his family time and sharing the personal stories with all who would listen.

Forrest is survived by his wife, Betty Derickson of Chillicothe; sons, Gene Derickson and wife Teresa of Chillicothe; Lee Derickson and wife Christine of Springfield; Robert Derickson and wife Megan of Bellevue, Nebraska; step daughters, Paula Anderson of Bellevue, Nebraska; Cinda Maasdam of Chillicothe; Lisa Grooms of Hamilton; step sons , Alan Larson and wife Julie of Mooresville; Stan Larson and wife Sonya of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Ryan Derickson; Kayla Moss; Brittany Bedingfield; Tiffany Hoerrman; Chris Rader; Lindsy Peck; Levi Derickson; Gabriel Derickson; Hunter Derickson; Noah Derickson; Zoe Derickson; Kennedy Derickson; Piper Derickson; Brent Anderson; Brad Anderson; Kyle Larson; Brock Larson; Derek Larson; Garette Larson; Jessica Tipsword; Ridge Maasdam; Tyler Maasdam; Spencer Maasdam; Laura Standiford; Austin Morse; Bryce Larson; Kylee Larson; Cayden Larson; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; brother, Glenn Derickson and wife Debbie of Chillicothe; sister, Lois Niehaus of Chillicothe.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dollie Schneedle Derickson; parents, Robert and Minnie Derickson; brothers, William Derickson; Dwayne Derickson; Donald Derickson; grandchildren, Justin Derickson, Jonah Derickson.

A Visitation will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Friends may call Thursday and Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Heritage Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling Missouri.
