Frances V. Cox, 93, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, under the care of Hedrick Medical Center Hospice.
Frances was born July 14, 1917 in rural Davies County near Hamilton, MO, the daughter of James Harry Allen and Mabel Clair Weaver Allen. She attended Breckenridge High School.
On November 10, 1933 Frances married the love of her life, Clarence O. Cox in Lexington, MO. They were married 77 years. Clarence survives of the home.
Frances enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family but she also worked for several years in the cafeteria at Chillicothe High School. In later years she worked for RSVP in the kitchen at the Chillicothe Senior Citizens Center.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Royal Neighbors of America, Grand River Historical Society and RSVP.
Frances is survived by her husband, Clarence of the home; four children, Allen Leon Cox and wife, Doris, of Chillicothe, Jewell Wendell Cox and wife, Marilyn, of Cape Girardeau, MO, Janet Sue Warren and husband, Larry, of Chillicothe, and Gary Paul Cox and wife, Carol of Canon City, CO; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home
