Gladys Flemming

Gladys Marie (Weitzel) Flemming, 74, of Chillicothe, MO, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty MO after a battle with colon cancer.
Gladys was born in Linn County on March 12, 1939 to William (Bud) Weitzel and Dicy Mae Swihart Weitzel.  She was a 1957 Graduate of Chillicothe High School. After High School she enlisted in the Army and served from 1957-1959. Gladys married Roy Flemming in 1959 in West Point New York. She married Thomas Delbert Rice Sr. in 1969 and Allen Dale Fisher in Chillicothe Mo, December 1985 and remained married until his death in July 2000.  She married Roy Flemming in October of 2005.
Gladys worked for over 20 years at Lambert Manufacturing Company.  Gladys enjoyed crocheting, shopping, reading, watching movies, going to auctions and traveling.
Gladys is survived by her husband Roy Flemming of the home; three sons, Mike Flemming of Spavinaw OK, Tom Rice and wife Christie of Wentzville, MO and Tim Rice and wife Kim of Chillicothe; a daughter, Brenda Buck of Chillicothe, step-daughters Pattie Pence and husband of Litchfield IL, and Connie Watkins and husband Dave of New Berlin IL, a sister,  Mary Frances Coberley of Chillicothe; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dicy Weitzel, a son Robert Lee Flemming; daughter Cheryl Ann Flemming Buck; two brothers , Bob Weitzl and James Weitzel; and a sister Dorothy Weitzel Cordray;  two sister-in-laws, Marietta Baxter Weitzel and Shirley Harvey Weitzel; brother-in-law, Marshall Monroe Cordray; husband Thomas D. Rice Sr. and husband Allen “Dale” Fisher who passed away July 7, 2000.
Memorial contributions were made to Operation Help.
There was a cremation.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday February 9th at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
