Ida Lorene Thomson

     Ida Lorene (Jones) Thomson, 77, of Chillicothe, MO., passed away Thursday February 13, 2025 at Stonebridge Senior Living in Chillicothe, MO, under the care of Three Rivers Hospice Inc. 

     Ida was born February 9, 1948 in Chillicothe, MO the daughter of William Franklin Jones and Willadean (Hayes) Jones. On February 23, 1974 Ida married Kenneth Leroy Thomson at the Harvest Time Pentecostal church of God in Chillicothe, MO.

     She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School class of 1966.

     Ida was an active member of Turning Point Church of Chillicothe; she enjoyed cooking, the theatre, dancing, helping others, and spending time with family and friends.

     She worked in the medical records department at Hedrick Medical Center. She was in the circulation department of the Constitution Tribune for 28 years. She also taught preschool at the Bethel Assembly of God Preschool. 

     She is survived by her children Kenneth Dale Thomson and wife Angela Thomson, Holt, MO; Kevin Daniel Thomson, Aurora, CO; Rebecca Lorene (Thomson) Gustafson and husband Kevin Gustafson, Carrington, ND; and her grandchildren Kyle Thomson, Colin Thomson, Benjamin Gustafson, and Levi Gustafson.

     She is preceded in death by her parents William Franklin Jones and Willadean (Hayes) Jones, her Husband Kenneth Leroy Thomson, and her brother William “Bill” Jones. 

     Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22nd at 10am at Turning Point Church in Chillicothe, MO. A visitation will be held from 6-8p, Friday, February 21st at Heritage Funeral Home Chillicothe, MO Burial will be at Christison Cemetery, Dawn, MO.

     Memorials in honor of Ida L. Thomson may be made to Turning Point Church, and left at Heritage Funeral Home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
