Jesse Lee Lamp, 59, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his home, under the care of his family and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Jesse was born April 19, 1953 in Jamesport, MO the son of Edward Lamp and Laura Mae Mackey Lamp.
He worked for several years as a laborer for various saw mills in the area and also delivered the Constitution Tribune in Chillicothe.
On April 27, 2012 Jesse married Claretta Lynn Hays in Chillicothe. She survives of the home.
Jesse was an avid hunter (member of the National Riffle Assoc.) and fisherman but his greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Claretta of the home; daughter, Shelly Smith and husband, Sonny of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Sonny Jr., Kylee, and Desiray Smith of Chillicothe; his mother, Laura Gay of Jacksonville, IL; two sisters, Barbara Ratliff of Patterson, IL and Loretta Gay of Jacksonville, IL; three step-sons Michael, Keith and Timothy Yount of Chillicothe.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Edward and a brother Clifford Lamp.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, MO.
