John Charles La Rue, 73, of Meadville, MO passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO.
John was born April 8, 1942 in West Jefferson, North Carolina, the son of Jack La Rue and Jeanette Barker La Rue.
He worked in various warehouses in receiving and lock repair. He also worked as a carpenter doing home repair.
On February 15, 2003, John married Pamela Sue Sordelet in her mother’s home in Carmichael, CA. She survives of the home.
John was a very accomplished artist especially flowers and landscapes. He enjoyed reading, gardening and fishing, but his 1st love was riding his motorcycle.
He was a member of the Restored Church of God, Kansas City, MO.
His survivors include his wife Pamela Sue, mentioned above; a son, Phillip Aron Nielsen and wife Michelle of Stephens City, CA; a granddaughter, Julia Athena Nielsen; his brother, Mack La Rue of Elkin, NC; a cousin, Steve O’Dell of Fair Oaks, CA; two brothers-in-law, James Sordelet of Sacramento, CA and David Sordelet of MN; sister-in-law, Penny Coen of Sacramento CA.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9 2015 at Meadville Cemetery, Meadville MO.
