John Shirley

September 27, 1945 — October 2, 2021

John William Shirley Jr., 76, of Hale, Missouri formerly of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away at Hedrick Medical Center Saturday, October 2, 2021.

John was born September 27, 1945 in Braymer, Missouri to parents John William Shirley Sr. and Neta Hooper Shirley. He graduated from Norborne High School. John married the love of his life, Frances Haley December 27, 2002 at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri.

John worked his whole life on the family farm using his favorite John Deere equipment. Some of his hobbies were collecting John Deere memorabilia, riding his John Deere Gator, farm upkeeping, traveling, watching western movies and the Country Music show.

John is survived by his daughter, Wendy and husband Daniel Moss; grandchildren, Emma; Ethan; Reagan; Charlotte; lifelong friend, Ricky Newport.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John William Shirley Jr. and Neta Hooper Shirley; wife, Frances Shirley; mother-in-law, Helen Haley.

Memorials in honor of John may be made to Union Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association and may be mailed to or left at Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N Washington, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

A Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chillicothe, Missouri.-
