Johnson Lane Nichols, 85, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza, Kansas City, MO.
Johnson was born February 16, 1932 in Carlow, MO, the son of Theodore Thompson Nichols and Euleta Bell Tague Nichols. He attended school in Breckenridge, MO.
He was a United States Air Force veteran and served his country during the Korean Conflict.
On February 12, 1956, Johnson married Beverly May Fairbanks. Beverly preceded him in death on January 16, 2017 after 60 years of marriage.
Johnson worked in road construction for Trager Construction and he also farmed in the area for many years.
He was a member of the House of Prayer Rescue Mission and the Disabled American Veterans.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and having fish fries for friends and family. He would ride his scooter around to pick up cans and go have coffee with friends, and “ ya’ll come back now, ya hear” was one of his favorite sayings. We will certainly miss his kind and generous spirit.
