Joseph Franklin Hobbs, 88, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty MO.
Joseph Franklin Hobbs was born in Kellogg, Iowa on June 4, 1924 to Joseph Adam Hobbs and Lucinda Ruth Williams Hobbs.
Joe was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Army from October 1945 to July 1946.
On December 20, 2003 Joe married Olive Fern Long at the Soul’s Harbor Church of God in Chillicothe. She survives of the home.
For many years of his life Joe was a truck driver and drove for many different companies.
Joe was a member of the Pentecostal Church and attended Soul’s harbor Church of God in Chillicothe and he was active in building the new church facility. He enjoyed mowing lawns and tinkering with lawn mowers and bicycles.
He is survived by his wife Fern of the home; 3 children, Joe Hobbs of CA, Donna Sego of Chillicothe, and Linda Sumey of WA; 4 grandchildren, Brent Scholl, Bryce Scholl, Janet Wallace and Florence Mason: great granddaughter, Sydney Scholl; brothers, Arthur Hobbs and Richard Hobbs; sister, Alice Burnett; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan Hobbs; sister, Golda Richmond; brothers, Donald Hobbs, Robert Lee Hobbs and Raymond Hobbs.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, MO.
