Joyce Elaine Searcy Morris, 66, of St. Joseph, MO died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at LaVerna Village in St. Joseph.
Joyce was born October 31, 1947 in Chillicothe, MO the daughter of Robert Junior Searcy and Marjorie Lee Newman Searcy. She was a graduate of Southwest High School in Ludlow, MO and attended business school in Kansas City, MO.
She worked at the Mode-O-Day Dress Shop in Chillicothe and for Life Touch. She was also a receptionist in a tanning spa and salon in Chillicothe.
On April 11, 1970 Joyce married Edward Oren Morris at Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe. He survives of the home.
Joyce was a member of Utica Baptist Church and enjoyed ceramics and many kinds of crafting. She was an avid genealogist and also enjoyed greyhound races. The biggest joy of her life was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; sisters, Debbie Anderson of Chillicothe, and Joyona Rader and husband Roger of Lancaster, MO; brother, Robert Searcy and wife Jolene of St. Joseph MO; brother-in-law, Wesley Morris and wife Betty of Covington GA; many nephews, nieces and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bill Anderson.

Burial will be at Utica Cemetery, Utica MO.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014.
