Karen Corann Saterlee, 76, of Chillicothe, MO passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at The Baptist Home in Chillicothe.
Karen was born June 16, 1940 in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of Howard Kenneth Satterlee and Velma Valeria Johnson Saterlee.
She was a graduate of Newman High School, Sweetwater TX in 1958 and Hardin Simmons University in Abilene TX. She received her Master’s Degree in Education Administration through Indiana University and Truman University. She never lost her love of learning and attended North Central Missouri College in Trenton MO.
Karen was a teacher on a Navajo Reservation in Rockpoint AZ for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and she was a Civilian Training & Development person for the United States Army. She also ran the Learning Resource Center in St. Louis, MO.
She was a member of Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe; Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was a Girl Scout on the Navajo Reservation.
She enjoyed crafting, crocheting and making rugs. She was especially fond of traveling and took her mother with her on many overseas trips.
Karen is survived by; nieces Charlotte Lynne Satterlee of Midland TX and Jane Gibby of the Waco TX area; nephew. Ken Dean Satterlee of Austin TX; cousin, Beverly Hamrick of Chillicothe; sister-in-law, Xuanhong Satterlee of Leander TX; great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Howard Satterlee; and an aunt, Mary Melissa Hamrick.

Funeral services will be held at Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Plymouth Cemetery in rural Carroll County MO.
A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday (at 10:00 a.m.) at Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
