Kenneth Lower

Kenneth Eugene Lower, 90, formerly of Brookfield and Chillicothe, MO passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO.
Kenneth was born April 10, 1924 in Brookfield MO the son of Floyd Wilson Lower and Audrey Laverne Hubbard Lower. He was a graduate of Brookfield High School.
Following high school, Kenneth went to Kansas City and worked for Benson Manufacturing until 1943, when he joined the United States Army Air Corp. Kenneth served in WW II from 1943 thru 1945 and he attained the rank of Technical Sergeant with the 340th Bomb Group, 489th Bomb Squadron. He was a Gunner in a B25 Bomber and flew 57 bombing missions. He received 5 Battle Stars, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal and 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, a Presidential Citation, ETO Ribbon and Good Conduct Ribbon.
After the service he became a tool and die maker and worked for Phillips Tool and Die in Wisconsin.
On April 23, 1949 Kenneth married Georgia Jean Bilder in Georgia’s childhood Lutheran Church in Milwaukee WI. She survives of the home.
Kenneth and Georgia moved to Brookfield in 1986 and then to Chillicothe in 2000.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Chillicothe and was very active in church activities. He was Acolyte Warden and Chalice Bearer for several years. Kenneth received the Bishop’s Shield for his work in the church.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Georgia, of the home. two sons, Thomas Scott Lower of Huebertus WI and Robert Dean Lower and wife Dawn of Oconomowoc WI; a granddaughter Ashley Marie Lower of Oconomowoc WI; cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Eugene Lower in 2012; a 4 brothers.

There has been a cremation.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Grace Episcopal Church and Grace Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe.
