Kenneth Leroy Thomson, 64 of Chillicothe, MO died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at his home in Chillicothe, under the care of his family and Hedrick Medical Center Hospice Services.
Kenneth Thomson was born March 1, 1947 in Kansas City, MO the son of James Adolph Thomson and Patricia Jane Herron Thomson. He was a graduate of East High School in Kansas City and of De Vry University.
Kenneth served in the United States Navy from June 7, 1966 until January 26, 1970 on the USS Mullinnix. He attained the rank of DC3.
On February 23, 1974 Kenneth married Ida Lorene Jones at the Harvest Time Pentecostal Church of God in Kansas City, MO. She survives of the home.
Kenneth worked as a telephone installer for GTE of the Midwest for 35 years. After retiring from GTE he formed the Phone Guy in Chillicothe which remained in business from 2005 thru 2010.
Kenneth is was an active member of Turning Point Church in Chillicothe and was an avid bass fisherman who enjoyed boating, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Thomson of Lee’s Summit, MO; wife, Ida Lorene Thomson of the home; two sons, Kenneth Dale Thomson and wife Angela of Kearney, MO and Kevin Daniel Thomson and wife Allison of Nixa, MO; daughter, Rebecca Lorene Gustafson and husband Kevin of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Kyle Thomson, Colin Thomson, Mackenzie Love and Benjamin Gustafson; sister, Linda Schwartz and husband Robert of Tucson, AZ; brother, Howard Thomson and wife Linda of Joplin, MO; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Adolph Thomson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Turning Point Church in Chillicothe, MO
Burial will be at Christison Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO
