Leona Anna Curtis, 90, of Lock Springs, MO went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home, under the care of her family and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Leona was born October 5, 1923 in Lindy, NE the daughter of Andrew C. Clausen and Augusta K. Nabor Clausen.
On March 30, 1946 Leona married C. D. Monroe Curtis in Scott’s Bluff NE. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1975.
C. D. and Leona moved to Gallatin MO around 1947. Leona moved to Lock Springs in 2013 to be near her daughter Barbara.
Leona was a homemaker who enjoyed crafting of all types, needlework and she was as excellent artist. She also enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting but spending time with her family was the top priority.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, the humane society and was a staunch defender of wildlife.
Leona is survived by two sons, Leroy Clausen of Bloomfield NE and Lee M. Curtis and wife Cindy of Tacoma WA; two daughters, Beverly A. Cone and husband Gary of Gallatin MO and Barbara K. Williams and husband Tom of Lock Springs MO; 3 grandchildren; Brenda Pliley and husband Bart, Brian Lee Cone and wife Kelly, and Terri Linn Williams; five great grandchildren, Saxton Pliley, Sophie Pliley, Spencer Pliley, Shealyn Pliley and Chloie Cone; a sister Lillian Meinken of Denver CO; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers, Albert, Alvin, Ray, Emos, Andy, Gerhard and Harry; two sisters, Elsie and Hilda.

A Graveside service will be held at Lock Springs Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.
There will be no visitation.
Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 4:00 on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday
