Lucille A. Hapes, 99, of Chillicothe MO passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Indian Hills in Chillicothe, under the care of her daughter and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Lucille was born August 26, 1914 in Chillicothe, MO the daughter of Frank Preston Wood and Cora Bell Wilson Wood.
She was an excellent mother, home maker, farmer and an avid gardener.
Lucille was a member of Calvary Baptist Church
She is survived by a daughter Helen J.Thompson of Chillicothe; two granddaughters, Melanie Potter of St. Joseph, MO and Andrea Thompson of Decherd, TN; a great grandson, Austin Potter of St. Joseph, MO.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Cora Wood; five brothers, Lewis Wood, Nick Wood, Clarence “Pete” Wood, Albert Wood and infant brother, William Wood; two sisters, Irene Troeger and Lena Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. the time of service on Wednesday.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 .
Burial will be at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, MO.
