Marguerite Ann Treon, 77, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Chillicothe, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph.
Marguerite was born December 10, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Smith Ferguson and Sarah Ellen Rees Ferguson.
She was a graduate of the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY.,
Marguerite married Russell Eugene Treon on March 23, 1963 in Elkton, Minn. He survives of the home.
She worked as a registered nurse for many years in New York.
Marguerite and Russell farmed in the Chillicothe area for many years before moving to St. Joseph in 2007.
She attended Cornerstone Church when she lived in Chillicothe.
Marguerite enjoyed classical music and had written several poems and musical pieces, some of which were published.
She is survived by her husband , Russell; two sons James O’Brien of St. Joseph, MO and John O’Brien of Olathe, KS; six step children; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Louis and Joseph O’Brien.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge, MO.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
