Marshall Hopkins

Marshall Hugh Hopkins, 72, of Jamesport MO died Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Memphis TN.
Marshall was born July 20, 1943 in Larned KS, the son of Harry Hopkins and Mittarae Rogers Hopkins.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Vietnam era and he set up airports for the military. Marshall was very proud of his military service and the 4th of July was his favorite holiday.
Marshall held many jobs in his life. He worked for Continental Airlines and was once the Mayor of Victor, Colorado. He worked as a trail guide and a ranch hand. He was tourism director and worked for economic development in Jamesport. He had a tremendous sense of humor and was a wonderful story teller.
On June 1, 2002 Marshall married Darlene Ruth Herbert in Denver Colorado. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was always eager to share his faith with others. He enjoyed reading and cooking and spending time with his family.
Marshall is survived by his wife, Darlene of the home; 6 children, Marshall Sterling Hopkins, Kenneth Jason Hopkins, Laura Ann Hopkins, Melanie Lynn Hopkins, Dan’l Delaws Hopkins, and Kerri Leigh Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Chillicothe, MO.
Burial will be at Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, MO.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service on Monday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
