Mary Joan McCown-Riddle, 50, of Chillicothe, MO died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Mary Jo was born July 13, 1961 in Nevada, MO the daughter of Marvin Bley and Marjorie Seitz Bley.
She was a graduate of Nevada High School and attended Southern Missouri State University in Springfield.
In 1987 she married Gary Joe McCown in Springfield, MO. He preceded her in death in 2003.  In August of 2007 Mary Jo married Jason C. Riddle in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He survives of the home.
For 24 years, Mary Jo owned and operated State Beauty Supply in Chillicothe.
She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Chillicothe, MO.
Mary Jo liked horseback riding, woodworking and enjoyed being a mom & raising her daughter Sierra, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sierra McCown of the home; husband Jason C. Riddle of the home; step sons, Jessie Riddle and Josey Riddle of Chillicothe; mother, Marjorie Seitz of Nevada, MO; father Marvin Bley of Montrose, MO; sisters, Linda Barner of Springfield, MO, Carol Tweedy of Kansas City, MO, and Barbara Lycan of Independence, MO; a brother, Gary Bley of Montrose, MO; nieces and nephews.
Memorials in honor of Mary Jo may be made to Sierra McCown to finish her education, and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601. On-line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com .
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Chillicothe, MO.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
