Michael David Shelton, 43, of Liberty, MO passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City, MO.
Michael was born August 9, 1969 in Amarillo, TX, the son of Fred Carl Shelton and Donna Lee Boner Shelton.
He was a 1987 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Central Texas Police Academy, and Central Texas College.
On February 1, 1990 Michael married Alicia Dawn Angell in Lampasas, TX. She survives of the home.
Michael was a veteran, serving in the United States Army, where he did a tour in Iraq and was on the Army wrestling team. Eventually, he had to take a medical leave from the Army. He also worked in law enforcement for several years.
He was an avid fan of sports, especially football.
Michael was a member of Liberty Manor Baptist Church, Liberty, MO.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Shelton and daughter, Riley Madison Shelton both of the home; a sister, Deborah Jean Lamb of Chillicothe; two nephews, Tony Michael Lamb of Chillicothe and Brandon Lee Clevenger of Liberty, MO; father and mother-in-law, SFC Lewis Angell and Lynn Angell of Ft. Hood, TX; and brother-in-law, James Whitten of Muskogee, OK.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Sunday.
Burial with military honors will be at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, MO.
