Owen Leroy Maples, 72, of Chillicothe, MO, passed away at his home on October 26, 2016.
He was born in Chillicothe on October 6, 1944, the son of Gerald LaVern Maples and Ester Mae Reeves Maples. He attended Chillicothe schools.
Owen worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator doing road construction.
On January 15, 1965 Owen married Georgia Lee Ashlock in Kansas City, MO. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the Eagles Aerie in Chillicothe and Teamsters Local 101.
Owen is survived by his wife Georgia, of the home; son, Charles Maples and wife Rhonda of Chillicothe; two brothers, Big Charles Maples of Humble, TX and Cliff Maples of Cameron, MO; a sister, Mary Lou VanDeventer and husband Jan of Chillicothe; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Sue Ashlock.

Private graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Anderson Smith Cemetery, Chillicothe, MO.
On November 12, 2016 a Celebration of Life honoring Owen Maples will be held at the Eagles Club, 200 E. Jackson St., Chillicothe, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. All family and friends are welcome.
