Paul Fredrick “Jerry” Slattery, 80, of Wichita, KS passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita, KS.
Jerry Slattery was born March 16, 1936 in Chillicothe MO the son of Paul Maurice Slattery and Matilda Josephine Seidel Slattery. He was a graduate of St. Josephs Academy in Chillicothe.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1959 thru 1961 as a Medic. He attained the rank of E-3 (T) served stateside.
Jerry was a heavy equipment operator, working with his family on road construction. Later he became a supervisor for Troeger Quarries and then a road construction foreman for Herzog.
In 2000, Jerry married Dorothy Mills in AZ, She survives of the home.
He was a member of St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe and he enjoyed farming and woodworking.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” listed above; son Gary Stenzel (Marty) of Clay Center, KS; daughter, Myrna Burkes (James) of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Laronda Corbin (Steve) of Chillicothe; son, Danny Stenzel of Chillicothe; Jimmy Stenzel of Atlanta, GA; Tim Slattery of Jamesport, MO; Jim Slattery of Chillicothe and Sam Slattery (Mary Ann) of Chillicothe; 20 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; a brother, Jim Slattery of Tuscon, AZ; former wife Lena Slattery of Jamesport, MO; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura Slattery; sons Randall and David Slattery; and daughter, Elizabeth Ann Slattery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe, MO.
Burial will be at St. Columban’s Cemetery, Chillicothe.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home, in Chillicothe.
