Richard Kendall Midgyette, 77, of Chillicothe MO died Monday, May 28, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph MO.
Richard was born November 9, 1934 in Meadville, MO the son of Thomas Lee Midgyette and Clara Etta Bentley Midgyette. He attended Meadville schools.
At the age of 17 Richard joined the United States Navy and finished his high school requirements while serving his country. He served in the Korean Conflict from October 1951 thru October 1955.
On October 24, 1987 Richard married Ruth Leone Garten in Chillicothe MO. She survives of the home.
Richard worked for many years as an auto detailer at Barnes Baker Motors and after retirement he kept himself busy by doing odd jobs and mowing lawns.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Midgyette; eight children, Tricia White, Troy Midgyette, Tonette Midgyette, Thomas Midgyette, Tracy Midgyette, Terrilynn Ramsey, John Brandon Poore and Lauraine Garten; over 40 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Midgyette, and Robert Midgyette; two sisters, Edna Bruce and Gloria Midgyette; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy Lee, Martin, Paul, and Clarence; sisters, Vivian Hudson and Nancy Midgyette; 2 infant siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. On-line condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com .
There has been a cremation.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 520 Samuel St., Chillicothe MO.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
