Robert L. Thomas, 76, of Hale MO, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton MO.
Bob Thomas was born September 21, 1938 in Dawn MO, the son of Floyd Earl Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Triplett Thomas.
In 1955 Bob joined the United States Navy and served on the USS Hornet until 1959.
On June 25, 1961Bob married Shirley Mae Anderson at his parent’s home. She survives of the home.
He was an area farmer for most of his life and even after he retired he enjoyed hobby farming. He also liked fishing and in the winter he enjoyed quilting.
Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; a daughter, Bobbie Jo Dovin and husband Dimitri of Belle MO; four grandchildren, Matthew Lucas and wife Amber of Centralia MO, Heather Curl of Meadville MO, Jody Thomas of Holt MO and Chelsie Neudorff and husband Dylan of Chula MO; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Junior Thomas of Avalon MO; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ricky Eugene Thomas; 1 brother; 2 sisters and a granddaughter, Holly Lucas.

There will be a visitation from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Avalon Cemetery, Avalon MO.
