Roger Ken Richey, 63, of Chillicothe, MO died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe under the care of his family and Hedrick Medical Center Hospice.
Roger was born November 25, 1948 in Ludlow, MO the son Harold Earl Richey and Dorothy Elizabeth Atterbury Richey and he was a 1966 graduate of Southwest High School in Ludlow, MO.
He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Army from June 1968 thru March 1970, one year of which was spent in Vietnam.
Roger worked for several companies in the Chillicothe area and retired from Wire Rope Corp. after 10 years. He also owned his own company, Wooden Dreams, in Chillicothe which he operated for nearly 20 years.
He was a member of Soul’s Harbor Church of God and the VFW both of Chillicothe.
Roger was active in his church and was very supportive of the youth group. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was and avid woodworker.
He is survived by three daughters, Angela Turner (Eric) of Chillicothe, Danielle Ishmael (Steven) of Trenton, MO, and Stephanie Richey of Morrison, CO; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Richey (Nancy) of Chillicothe; an aunt, Margaret Manley of Hamilton, MO; special friend, Rose Richey of Chillicothe; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gary Dale Richey and Terry Ivan Richey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Soul’s Harbor Church of God in Chillicothe.
Burial will at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
