Ronnie Elwood Sykes passed away May 28, 2016 at his home in Dawn MO.
Ronnie was born January 28, 1942 in rural Dawn, MO to Forrest and Lela
Elaine Williams Sykes. He spent his entire life residing in Carroll
County MO.
On August 30, 1959 he married Wanda Mae Nichols at the Breckenridge
Baptist Church in Breckenridge, MO. She survives of the home.
Ronnie spent his entire life farming. He was a member and deacon of Enon
Baptist Church. Ronnie enjoyed going to tractor pulls and steam shows.
He enjoyed reading and fishing. The highlight of Ronnie's life was
spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. Ronnie enjoyed reminiscing and looking at old
pictures around his kitchen table.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Wanda of the home, three sons, Mark Sykes
(Teresa), Mitch Sykes (Junita) Dawn, MO, Marty Sykes (Heather) St Joseph,
MO and one daughter Valerie Gramenz (Danny) Chillicothe, MO; ten
grandchildren, Kelly (Juliane), Lucas (Shatia), Maresa, Patrick (Suzi),
Brandon (Amber), Isaac and Allison Sykes, Alexis Boyles (Chad), Kyle
(April), and Steffany Gramenz; fourteen great-grandchildren; four brothers
Jack Sykes (Sharon) Kearney MO, Leon Sykes, Dawn, MO, Robert Sykes (Carol
Ann) Overland Park, KS, Joel Sykes (Jamie) Kearney, MO and one sister
Charlotte Sykes (Al Hightower) Chevy Chase, MD; several nieces and nephews
and many cousins.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Elaine Sykes, one
son, Mike Sykes, and his grandparents.
Memorials in honor of Ronnie Sykes may be made to the Enon Baptist Church
or Enon Cemetery and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N
Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601. On-line condolences may be left at

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at
Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2016
at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO
There will be a private family graveside at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of Heritage Funeral Home.
