Sue Potts, as she was known to her friends and family went to her reward one hour short of
her 94th birthday. She lived most of her life in Kansas City, MO but was born and raised at the family home in Utica, MO October 27, 1922 to Ashford Jackson Stamper and Hazel Kent Stamper. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Elton Potts, brothers Bill, John, Ashford, sister Mary, son David and Grandson Will Schulte. She is survived by her sister, Bessie Glick McGinty, sons Jerome Hudson wife Beverly, Gregory Potts wife Sherry, daughter Cady Pembroke husband Jim and grandchildren, Leah Potts, Mike Potts, Joe Potts, Andy Potts, Rob Schulte, Emma Pembroke, Sarah Belashopka and Mary Berry. Great grandchildren Lauryn, Morgan and Emma Potts, and Abigail and Natasha Belashopka. Great,Great Grandson Silas Potts.
She was a strong woman who proudly served our country as a RN in Manchester England during WWII. Sue continued her work in nursing at St Joseph hospital and later as head nurse at Armco Steel. She was active in the Industrial Nurses Society and served as past president. Sue had a passion for antiques. She and Elton created a second career as antiques dealers.
Sue was a loving and generous person and a gifted story teller. We will cherish the memories.
Memorials in Sue's honor may be made to the Utica Baptist Church and left at or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Services will be held at Utica Baptist Church Utica, MO. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, Visitation 10am and Service to follow at 11am.
