Thomas (Tom) Kendrick Page was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 29, 1950, to Alice Cecile Page and William (Bill) Page. Tom enjoyed a childhood in the big city of Chicago until he graduated from high school. During his formative years in Chicago, Tom diligently participated in Boy Scouts until he reached the highest honor of Eagle Scout. After graduation his family moved to Westport, Missouri; his dad, who was a piano salesman, was transferred to Kansas City for his job. Tom attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business. Tom worked for many years in the parts department of car dealerships then eventually landed a job at GEICO Insurance where he worked his way up to supervisor and stayed until he retired. Tom went on to meet the love of his life, Kathy, and they married on November 10, 2000, in Kansas City. Tom and Kathy lived in Overland Park, KS and Lone Jack, MO before retiring in 2016 when they bought a home in Shell Knob, MO at Table Rock Lake. They enjoyed several years at the lake before Tom’s health declined when they moved to Chillicothe, MO to be closer to family.
Tom and Kathy made some great memories while traveling to Ireland, Alaska, Washington and numerous other places. Music, photography, and cooking were just a few of Tom’s passions. Tom and Kathy attended many concerts during their marriage; they even traveled to see Cher in Washington and a bluegrass band in a Tennessee cave. Rock concerts were one of his favorite things to attend and he jumped at any chance he had to go see one. Tom was the family photographer, and you would seldom see him without a camera in his hands. He took countless pictures of the places he traveled and captured hundreds of photos of the grandkids’ activities. Tom also had the role of the official chef of the family, cooking numerous gourmet meals for family holidays and gatherings. He took cooking classes and never stopped trying new cooking techniques. Tom always enjoyed teaching the grandkids how to cook and made them special treats when they came to visit. You could also catch Tom in his garden, tending to his fruits and veggies or dusting off his motorcycle when the weather was nice. When he was younger, he flew ultra-light airplanes until he ended up in a few trees when he decided it was probably a good idea for him to keep his feet on the ground.
Even up to his last days, his wittiness and politeness were still immeasurable. He continued cracking jokes and thanking everyone, even when he was in pain. Tom was truly a man of much love and character.
Tom is survived by his wife Kathy, older brother Bruce (wife Susan) of Florida, younger brother Bob (wife Debbie) of Independence, MO, and younger sister Laura (husband Rick) of Chicago, IL ; sons Jeff Fisher of Kansas City, KS, Gary Fisher of Kansas City, MO, Chad Fisher (wife Emily) of Chillicothe, MO; nieces Kristin, Abigail and Tyler; nephews Brooks, Kevin and Sam; grandchildren JJ, Taylor, Zane, Anna and Clara; great-grandchildren Asa, Jax, Shiloh and Titus; and great-niece Harper.
