Tonda Eckert

Tonda Eckert, 64, of Chula, MO passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her residence in Chula, under the care of her loving family and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Tonda was born in Trenton, MO on November 17, 1949 the daughter of Dale Lee Brown and Laura Jane Eaves Brown. She was a 1968 graduate of Trenton High School and went to Cosmetology School in St. Joseph, MO.
She was the owner of Tonda’s Country Curl and also worked as a cosmetologist for various shops in Trenton and Chillicothe. On January 31, 1975 Tonda married Ronald Dean Eckert in Trenton, MO. He survives of the home.
Tonda was a member of Alpha Baptist Church, which she and Ronald attended for 38 years. She enjoyed working for the church and put together many church Christmas pageants.
Tonda had a special love of horses and enjoyed decorating her house and growing flowers outside, but she was most proud of her family and being the best “mema” to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Eckert of Chula; her mother, Laura Brown of Trenton; son, Rick Eckert and wife Becky and their children Hannah, Derek, Lindsay, and Joshua Eckert and Hanna Howard; son, Rubyn Eckert and wife Shasta and their children Brandon, Haley, Adriana and Cassity Eckert; son Randy Eckert and wife Tiffany L. and their children Autumn, Anthony, and Jaylynn Eckert and Lance Sayers; two sisters, Lynn Smith and husband Larry, and Sonna Harkins and husband Mike; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Tonda was preceded in death by her Father, Dale Brown and her grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery, Chula, MO.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home.
