Tonie Pew 75, of Ludlow, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 14 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, MO.
Tonie was born September 11, 1948 in Chillicothe to parents Walter Lee and Betty Boyd Bigelow. Tonie graduated Chillicothe High School, and worked for many years at various jobs in the area. The glove factory in Chillicothe, Dura Automotive in Brookfield, with the veterans home in Cameron being the last place she worked. She was a hard worker all her life. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, being a member of the Crazy Quilters, and quilting for her kids and grandkids. Tonie was also a huge lover of animals and loved to take care of her fur babies. Many of which were her horses and chickens.
Tonie is survived by husband and loving caretaker Steve Pew, her daughter Stacy and husband Bill Bruce of Rogers, AR., two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Lacey; five great grandchildren, Amiya, Skyler, Axton, twins Zelda and Zarah and many nieces and nephews on the maternal side and many relatives on her husband’s side including her step-children, Kevin Pew and his wife Angie with three kids in Hamilton, MO, Chad Pew and his wife Amy and their three kids in Hattiesburg, MS, Brent Pew and his wife Stacy with their three girls and one boy in Chesterfield, VA, and Dana Pew in Greensboro, NC. Sister Vickie Rohrback, brother Neal Bigelow and wife Rene of Chillicothe, Scott Bigelow and wife Sandra of Benton, Arkansas; As well as her animal companions, Baby Cockateel the bird, Missy Poopens and Fuzzy Butt the dogs, and Little Britches the cat.
Tonie was preceded in death by her parents, stepdaughter Julie Pew, and life long cousin and very good friend Marty Colgan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Braymer, Missouri on Friday the 24th from 10am to 11am.
Burial will be at Wheeling Cemetery, US-36, Wheeling, MO 64688
