Tressa Merrill

Tressa Elizabeth (Tolle) Merrill, 84, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 8, 2012 at Indian Hills in Chillicothe under the care of her family and St. Lukes Hospice.
Tressa was born April 20, 1928 in Lindley, MO the daughter of Ernest Tolle and Nancy McBurney Tolle. She was a 1946 graduate of Galt High School and attended Jackson Business School in Chillicothe.
Tressa was employed by the Chillicothe Housing Authority before she retired in 1990.
She was a member of Galt Christian Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 858 of Chillicothe.
Tressa was an excellent seamstress and made many of her children’s clothes. She enjoyed reading, music and maintained her flower garden until last year. Caring for her children and grandchildren gave her the most joy in her life.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Rorebeck and husband Scott of Trenton and Nancy Raney and husband Bill of Chillicothe; a son, Charley Merrill and wife Vicki of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren, Mike Stuart (Silke) of Cincinnati, OH, Erika Stiles (Clint) of Smithville, MO, Brian Raney of Chillicothe, Mandy Raney of Kansas City, MO, Melanie Hurley (Michael) of Bentonville, AR, Jerry Merrill (Katie) of Olathe, KS, and Brandon Merrill of St. Joseph, MO: five great grandchildren, Michelle Stuart , Samuel Stiles, Maddie & Macey Hurley, and Titus Merrill; a sister, Velma Page of Chillicothe; sister-in-law Ina Lea Tolle of Ames, IA; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight sisters and four brothers.

A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be at Humphreys Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
