Viola Stamper

Viola Belle Stamper, 88, of Holden MO formerly of Utica MO passed away September 1, 2014 at Holden Manor.
Viola was born February 1, 1926 in Spickard MO the daughter of Charles Shackelford and Clarice Amber Adams Shackleford.
She worked for the State of Missouri as a Youth Specialist at the Training School for Girls in Chillicothe.
Viola married John Allen Stamper on April 17, 1982 in Leavenworth KS. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2004.
She was a member of Utica Baptist Church, Utica MO and the Women’s Missionary Union.  She was an avid traveler and enjoyed sewing, reading and listening to country music (especially Jerry Lee Lewis). Viola was very devoted to her family and spending time with them was some of the best moments of her life.
Viola is survived by five children, LeRoy Webb (Hilde) of Braymer MO, Nancy Proffitt (Keith) of Camden MO, Caren Gibson (Don) of Braymer MO, Iola McQueen (Calvin) of Holden MO and Rick Webb (Carla) of Cowgill MO; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Nadine Stamper, Bessie McGinty and Sue Potts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Stamper; a great great granddaughter, Gabriella Routh.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials in honor of Viola Stamper may be made to the Utica Baptist Church and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe MO 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.heritage-becausewecare.com
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Utica Baptist Church, Utica MO.
Burial will be at Stone Cemetery, Utica MO.
A family visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
