Walter M. “Bubby” Daniel, 58, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Friday January 13, 2017 at his home in Chillicothe, under the care of his family and St. Luke’s Hospice.
Walter was born May 13, 1958 in rural Avalon MO, the son of John Howard Daniel and Lois May Cooney Daniel. He was a 1976 graduate of Chillicothe High School.
He retired from the United States Navy, having attained the rank of 1st Class Petty Officer.
On May 21, 1997 Bubby married Peggy Ilene Kennedy in Linneus, MO. She survives of the home
Bubby and Peggy were co-owners of the Traphouse in Chillcothe.
He was an avid sports fan and could remember the stats from years before on his favorite teams.
He was a member of American Legion #25 in Chillicothe.
Survivors are his wife, Peggy; mother-in-law Louann Kennedy of Chillicothe; brother, John Howard Daniel, Jr (Deborah) of Brookfield, MO; sisters, Melody Hope Gaston (Randy) of Lenwood IA, Mary Linda Duncan (Steven) of Pittsburg KS, Julie Martin (Sidney) of Jamesport MO, and Penny Sue Martens of Olathe KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois; brothers, David Paul Daniel and Larry Dean Daniel.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.
A cremation will follow the visitation and there will be no funeral service.
Burial will take place at a later date.
