Wanda Stottlemyre

Wanda Jean Stottlemyre, age 81 of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO. Wanda was born August 5, 1937 in Chula, MO to Ray Swagerty and Sylvia (Frizzell) Swagerty. She married Chester Paul Stottlemyre in Arkansas, while he was in the service. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1971.

Wanda was a homemaker, Interior decorator, daycare provider and nanny.  She used her seamstress skills to make her children’s clothes and grandchildren’s doll clothes. She also was a creative writer and published several poems.

Wanda was a free spirit and touted her writing talents. She immensely enjoyed reading, hosting family events and loving on her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wanda is survived by six children, Randy Stottlemyre (Becky) of Wilson, NC; Steve Stottlemyre of Thomson, GA; Tom Stottlemyre (Mary) of Lawson, MO; Lisa Crabtree (David) of Chillicothe, MO; Brent Stottlemyre (Tricia) of Wildwood, MO; and Misty Stottlemyre of Platte Woods, MO; brother, Bob Swagerty of Havre, Montana; sister, Sherry Handschin of Georgia; brother, Michael Swagerty of Buena Park, CA; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lori Beier; brothers, Harold, Sam and Dan Swagerty; and a sister, Mary Bartels.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 followed by services at 7:00 p.m.at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe MO.

There will be a private family funeral on June 22, 2019 at Blue Mound Cemetery, Dawn MO.
