William Norman Riggs, 80, of Chillicothe, MO passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 in Lenexa, KS.
William was born May 7, 1936 in Wentzville, MO the son of Paul Flood Riggs and Ella Lucille Ridgway Riggs. He was a graduate of Hickman High School in Columbia, MO and the University of Missouri attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering.
For 41 years William worked as an agricultural engineer for the United States Department of Agriculture- Natural Resources Conservation Service.
William was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1958 thru 1960 in Germany.
On December 27, 1964 William married his wife of 51 years, Ruby Arlene Booth in the Lincoln Center Church, Corning Iowa. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chillicothe; the Kiwanis Club of Chillicothe and the Masonic Lodge of Bethany, MO. He was a Registered Professional Engineer since 1957 and a member of the Society of Agricultural Engineers since 1958. He was most proud of receiving the FFA State Farmer Degree in 1954 and working since 1983 with the Boy Scouts and receiving the Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
William enjoyed gardening, photography, traveling extensively with his family and was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and Missouri Tigers fan. His favorite times were spent with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby of the home; three children, Russell Paul Riggs and wife, Melinda of Caruthersville, MO, Rachelle ReNae Lee-Warner and husband Jon of Norfolk, VA, and Ryan Alan Riggs of Warrensburg, MO; four grandchildren, Courtney, Katlyn, Raena and William. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe.
A visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Lincoln Township Cemetery, Corning IA.
