Winona Sharp

Winona Vernice Sharp, 80, of Dawn passed away Tuesday July 17, 2018 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Vernice was born on June 27, 1938 in Mooresville, the daughter of Wanda Bryan Wood and Emma Melvina Mooreshead Wood. She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and at the age of 56 she received her college degree from Trenton Missouri and became a Registered Nurse. She married Bobby Sharp on August 10, 1974 in Chillicothe.

Vernice enjoyed a simple kind of life. She loved her horses, dogs, farm and gardening. Her greatest love was time well spent with family.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Jeri Ward of Independence MO; Tomi Novak of Kansas City MO; Cristi Parsons of Chillicothe MO; son, Herb Parsons (Susan) of Sibley, MO; step sons, Randy Sharp (Shaula) and Rick Sharp (Leslie) of Raleigh, North Carolina; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Preceeding her in death were her parents, daughter Bobijo Vernice Gibson, grandson Kori Don Wells and brother Dale Wood.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, MO from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Welsh Cemetery, Dawn, MO following the service.
